States Strategies was started in the fall of 2014 by Ab Basu, who has decades-long experience of managing legislative, regulatory, state and local ballot campaigns and public affairs issues for a variety of individual companies and large trade association. Ab spent many years leading state and local government relations efforts for the agribusiness, chemicals and biotechnology industries. He and his partners have worked extensively across the country on sustainability, environmental, water, chemicals, energy, biotech and agricultural issues.
Experience rests in both defensive as well as multi state proactive bill placement strategies. We have supported passage of proactive laws in targeted states, including a domino-like effect of multiple passages of positive copy-cat legislation.
